Michael B. Hamburg

Founding Partner

Mike is a no-nonsense trial lawyer. Well versed, experienced, and skilled in all aspects of litigation, he focuses his practice on resolving family law/divorce matters, complex civil disputes, and injury/negligence/malpractice cases. For 25 years he has been working with clients throughout Maryland obtaining favorable outcomes. Mike’s clients rave about his caring attitude, his honest approach, commitment to excellence, and, when and if the time comes, impressive and quality trial presentations. Mike is one of those rare lawyers that can litigate a complex dispute without notes and checklists. By the time a case is called for trial, Mike knows the facts inside and out; his trial strategy and legal arguments having been perfected and crafted well in advance. Although he prefers resolving cases at the trial court level, Mike has argued many cases at the Court of Special Appeals and is credited with the appellate reported opinions of Abramson v. Wildman (breach of contract between attorney and client), Gruss. v. Gruss (a civil procedure issue), Harvey-Jones v. Coronel (an intentional tort and punitive damages case), and Lapides v. Trabbic (a tort claim). Mike is a member of the Baltimore County Bar Association and routinely volunteers his time and services to CHANA to assist victims of domestic violence. In addition, he serves on the Peer Review Committee of the Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland. Mike is called upon frequently to assist other lawyers develop legal strategies and to evaluate legal disputes. He finds he is the lawyer, that other lawyers call. He has, and continues to represent, lawyers going through their own divorces. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut in real estate and finance and was an honors graduate of the University of Baltimore where he was selected to serve as the executive editor of the Law Review. When out of the office you will find Mike riding his Harley Davidson or swimming at the local health club. He and his wife, Jodie (also a lawyer in the firm), reside in Reisterstown and are the proud parents of 4 children and a black lab.
